Suit’s Wholesale Spotlight: The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum

Suit’s Wholesale Spotlight: The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum

What did Mr. and Mrs. Lincoln’s kitchen smell like?

Well, funny you should ask.

Let’s talk about this fella’ named Abraham Lincoln. He was the 16th president of the United States, led the nation through the Civil War, was an attorney and he was 6’4”. Tall dude. He must have been pretty hungry.

With that said … let’s get back to the kitchen. How does the sound of “White Cake,” “Strawberry Shortcake,” “Lincoln’s Lemon Pie” and “Gingerbread” sound to you? Delicious, right?

Okay, let me get to the point. One of Serious Lip Balm’s driving forces is our wholesale business and how we have been expanding on it. We have been really pushing it throughout 2019 and we LOVE all of the people that are carrying our products in their stores.

TRIVIA: Who was one of our first wholesalers? Give up? Event Network! Who? Let me explain. Event Network is the company that takes care of the gift shops in places like Springfield’s Abraham Lincoln’s Presidential Museum, Ford’s Theatre in Washington, D.C., the Smithsonian, etc.

The reason I mention this is because Linda Herkert, who works for Event Network, approached us with Abe and Mrs. Lincoln’s favorite desserts and sweets and asked if we could rec

reate those scents into lip balm.  Did we know how to do that?  Hell no.  Did we figure it out?  YOU KNOW IT.  So, at the gift shops you will find the following: Mr. Lincoln’s Lemon Pie, Mrs Lincoln’s White Cake, the Presidential Strawberry Shortcake (themed after the famous dress) and finally, Honest Abe’s Gingerbread.

So, if you’re in Springfield, stop in at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum’s gift shop (212 N 6th Street) and check out what the Lincoln’s kitchen smelled like. You can also do the same if you happen to be in Washington D.C., stop by Ford’s Theatre (511 10th Street NW) or The Gettysburg National Military Park and Visitor Center in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.

‘Til next time,
