Shop Local/Shop LITTLE… PART TWO, THE LITTLES

Sure, it’s easy to walk through a department store and run your arm across the shelf, mindlessly dumping things into your cart so that you can cross ten people off of your shopping list at a time, BUT WHERE IS THE FUN IN THAT?  Where is the holiday spirit?  Where is the joy in buying something from a small business that create and curate their gifts with care?

I’ll tell you where it is… IT IS RIGHT HERE IN THIS LIST!  Check out the list of little shops that we love from all over the place that would do a little jig if you shared their wares with your loved ones!

We discovered Oh Dang! Crochet when Khara’s credit card shot out of her wallet like it was possessed when she saw the crocheted succulents and cacti and we’ve never looked back. Nikki makes the most amazing little yarn sidekicks that you’ve ever seen; check out her Instagram for more!

Goat’s milk soap and lotions and shaving soaps, oh my! These are some of the best handmade soaps we have ever come across and we are quite the dabblers in handmade soaps. Flat Branch Soap Co is one of our favorite booths and websites to frequent, so check it out here!

Need some adorable handprinted tea towels, napkins, onesies and more? Maybe some beautiful engraved wooden vases or Christmas ornaments? Look no further than the incredible work of Sprouted Designs out of St. Louis!

You may have seen string art before, but we can guarantee that YOU HAVE NEVER SEEN STRING ART LIKE THIS. Lauren Honaker of The Honaker Homemaker has a variety of string art pieces from personalized teacher signs to quotes by the revolutionary Mr. Rogers and then an array of custom felt garlands that are enough to make you weep with joy. Check out The Honaker Homemaker on Etsy and prepare to want EVERYTHING.

Avenue 261 not only has some of the coolest contemporary statement earrings on the block, but they also come with a message of empowerment and social justice. Our faves are The Mary and The Ruth, but dang it is hard to choose!

If you’re looking for a life-affirming print, a snarky magnet or a framed poster that says “happy pooping,” you’ve found the online store of your dreams in Untamed Roots! They are one of our fave websites and booths to pick through and we’re pretty sure you’re going to love them, too.

Remember the stamping craze of the late 90s? THESE ARE SO MUCH COOLER! In addition to rad custom stamps, Hello World Paper Co also specializes in pins, keychains and tons of other adorable goods, including personalized cutting boards with your family’s cherished recipes on them. COME ON NOW.

Megs Harden is basically a wizard with a wood-burning tool and we have proof!  This amazing chick crafts everything from killer earrings and custom animal portraits to leather cuffs and a new line of bleached flannels.  She puts her heart and soul in everything she does, so you should check out her work at Burn Grove and get lost in all of the amazing photos!

Everyone needs a friend who is a talented seamstress and Jessica Winklejohn of Bella’s Binkies and Blankets is just that for us! You may have seen her lovely Serious Lip Balm keychains that we stick for shows, but that’s the tip of the iceberg. Check out her Facebook page to see her wide range of products and message her for great custom work as well!
